The Jasikan Municipal Assembly on Friday 5th December,2025 joined the nation to celebrate the National Farmers’ Day at the district level on the theme “Eat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future.” The colourful event was held at Baglo Odumase, one of the vibrant farming communities within the municipality.
The celebration brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders, including the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, heads of security agencies, traditional leaders, departmental heads, assembly members, and farmers from across the municipality. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to recognising the vital role farmers play in sustaining local livelihoods and driving national development.
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon.Parke-Davis Magyigbe commended farmers for their hard work, resilience, and dedication, especially in the face of climate challenges and rising food demand. He emphasized the importance of supporting local agriculture to ensure food security and to promote economic growth in line with the national theme.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers who have distinguished themselves in various categories. The Assembly expressed its continued commitment to implementing policies and providing support systems that will enhance agricultural productivity and secure a brighter future for the municipality.
