On 30th September 2025, staff of the Jasikan Municipal Assembly took part in a Smart Workplace Training held at the Assembly Hall. The program was organized by the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) to help staff improve their digital skills and enhance efficiency in their day-to-day work.

The training introduced participants to the use of the Smart Workplace platform, a digital tool designed to simplify office communication, document sharing, and workflow management within the Local Government Service.

Opening the session, the Municipal Coordinating Director expressed appreciation to OHLGS for organizing such an important training. He encouraged staff to put the knowledge gained into practice to promote better service delivery to the public.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive was also present to show his support  and solidarity to the staff during the training. He further assured staff that whatever support they required of him to make us utilize this opportunity of going digital should be made known to him.

The workshop was lively and engaging, with staff from various departments actively participating in discussions and hands-on exercises.

This initiative by OHLGS forms part of a broader effort to modernize local governance and ensure that assemblies across the country embrace technology for improved performance and accountability.
