The Oti Regional Co-ordinating Council on Friday, 17th October 2025, held a Regional Budget Hearing at which four Assemblies namely; Jasikan Municipal Assembly, Kadjebi District Assembly, Biakoye District Assembly, and Guan District Asssembly presented their budget performance and plans for the coming year.
The meeting created a platform for the Assemblies to share their progress, challenges, and strategies towards improving revenue generation and efficient financial management. It also allowed stakeholders to review and discuss how resources could be better utilized to promote development across the region.
Officials from the Oti Regional Coordinating Council, representatives from both Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs, the representatives of the Assemblies, and other invited guests attended the session.
The Regional Co-ordinating Director in his address commended the Assemblies for their efforts in mobilizing internal revenue despite existing challenges. He encouraged them to explore more innovative ways to improve local revenue collection and enhance service delivery.
The Jasikan Municipal Assembly, together with the other participating Assemblies, expressed commitment to working harder to strengthen revenue systems and ensure that public funds are used effectively to meet the needs of their communities.
