The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Jasikan Municipal Assembly, Hon. Parke-Davis Magyigbe, joined the Forestry Commission’s Tree for Life Reforestation Initiative 2025 as a special guest, rallying communities to support Ghana’s ambitious goal of planting 30 million tree seedlings nationwide.
In a keynote address, the MCE emphasized the critical role of reforestation in combating climate change, restoring degraded landscapes, and safeguarding natural resources for future generations. He urged residents, schools, religious institutions, and local organizations to actively participate by collecting free seedlings from designated Forestry Commission offices and ensuring their long-term care through watering, weeding, and protection.
Hon. Parke-Davis Magyigbe also highlighted the local benefits of the initiative, noting how tree planting would enhance environmental resilience, improve air quality, and support livelihoods in Jasikan Municipality. He commended the Forestry Commission for its leadership and called for sustained collaboration among government agencies, traditional leaders, and citizens to achieve lasting impact. “This is not just about planting trees—it’s about growing them and nurturing a greener Ghana together,” he stated. The event concluded with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, reinforcing the Municipality’s commitment to the national reforestation agenda.
